Don’t keep butting heads with fools!

There are not bad committees, there are bad committee members, who have a majority on a committee.

We have time and time again, seen that some people get on the committee as an ego boost or to exercise a “control” function over where they live. Then they get their friends on to help them. The other lot owner can not be bothered, so these people have power.

These people don’t bother to do any free training, they get into fights and bully reasonable lot owners and caretaker. They make decision that benefit themselves or their friends, not the Body Corporate.

Then Body Corporate Managers, are often to scared of not retaining their contracts and as the benefit from overspending of those same people on the committee, so they do not stand up when decision are made that cause disputes or waste the body corporate’s money.

As lot owners we want a committee to:

  • provide you with information before they make decisions,
  • give you the opporunity to voice an opinion on decision that are going to be made,
  • make the decision based on expert advise, not personal preferences
  • maintain the scheme,
  • not to waste money,
  • not focus on petty, personal issues

This website provides free guidance and advice to all lot owners, and committee members who care about the whole body corporate not just themselves.

We hope we can give you knowledge to go to those bad people on your committee armed with the proper advice! Make them accountable.

If you have stories of individuals who behave badly on committees, let us know, we will name and shame them. We have seen that people will leave committee’s if they are held publicly accountable for their actions.

Tell us your victories against bullies, tyrants and imbeciles on any committees. It will help others and scare any bad committee members in to seeing their reconing is coming.

If that is not enough, we can help lot owners Complaints and dispute can, and should be made, but don’t expect change. the bad committee member is thick skinned and ignorant of the costs that disputes are to the body corproate. They don’t see it as their money they are wasting. What you need is a political campaign.

The battle may be hard, but that does not mean it should not be fought.

However, if there is apathy amoung the body corporate, and you can’t get a group of reasonable people who can form a majority on the committee, you have already lost. The bully’s of the world have won!

Don’t let them. We want to effect change for the silent majority of lot owner out there. If you are not preapred to stand up and replace the bad comittee members, just put up with what you have.
